President Obama goes in about the alarming rate of job losses in the country which have totaled 3.6 million since the recession began.
He also pushes for support of the stimulus bill which was passed in the House last week and is going through the Senate as we speak.
Obama defends the spending proposed in the bill which the Republicans have labeled “wasteful.” He promises that the programs he suggests will put Americans to work while at the same time accomplishing educational and infrastructural goals.
This is going to be a busy week in Washington, but President Obama is hitting the road as he plans to visit Indiana today and Florida tomorrow to talk to people in some of the hardest hit areas.
He will also be explaining in further detail his plans for the stimulus in order to generate support for a bill which has be so scrutinized in the media during the past few weeks.
